This year’s Association outing is to Kentchurch Court on Saturday 1 June. Kentchurch is off the A465 Hereford – Abergavenny road, overlooked by Garway Hill. It is the ancestral home of the Scudamore family and was featured in Country House Rescue a year or two ago. Please see the website www.kentchurchcourt.co.uk for further details.
We will be having a guided tour of the house followed by time to explore the gardens and ending with cake and tea. On a lovely sunny day, what could be better (you can see that’s I’m optimistic about the coming year)? The garden is lovely at any time of year but in June the roses will be out and the herbaceous borders in full colour. There are also delightful walks through the rhododendron wood, a productive vegetable garden and views of fallow deer in the park.
As numbers for the house tour are limited, you will be asked to sign up quickly when booking is advertised next month. The inclusive price will be £15 per person. Look for the booking form in next month’s Buzzzz Word and by email from your LAN Co-ordinator.
